Denmark & Sweden: Barley acreage and production estimates unchanged for both countries
Acreage and production estimates are unchanged from last month: Denmark at 520 thousand ha + 3.1 mln tonnes, Sweden at 250 thousand ha + 1.3 mln tonnes, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier in June.
Recent rains have well improved the crop outlook. Denmark usually sells 0.8 to 1.0 mln tonnes of malting barley for export. Reports are that this year already +/- 70% of the surplus have been traded ahead of harvest.
